In today’s scenario, every 1 in 3 women experiences physical violence from her intimate partners, including hitting, slapping, shoving, and pushing. Sometimes it is not even considered domestic violence.

Violence against women has always been focused on and is illegal, whether morality or society. Hitting a girl or any female leaves severe long-term effects on her physical and mental health. 

Sometimes, violence can also affect a woman’s life at work and home; sometimes, it leads to the victim’s death. Children often exposed to violence also get long-term physical and mental effects. Due to this, violence against women is also recognized as a public health concern. 

Sometimes, it happens that when a man is anxious or angry, he hits her wife and gets his aggression on her. So how far is it correct or legal for any person to hit a girl?

Is it illegal to hit a girl?

Whether it is a boy or girl, today’s society does not accept hitting. Regardless of being a boy or girl, hitting is not allowed, and it is illegal to hit anybody. So, it is considered illegal to hit a girl as well. 

Hitting a girl can lead to devastating circumstances, like physical assault and domestic violence, which can later severely affect the victim and the accused. Whenever there is a physical fight between a man and a woman, the female has all the right to fight back.

Assaulting, abusing, or even eve-teasing females are all considered inhuman behaviors.   


Hitting a girl if she hits you first

It’s a strong belief that everyone is allowed to defend themselves with an adequate amount of force. People often argue that when a man is attacked or hit by a woman, he should try to free himself from that situation using non-violent means. He should not use any kind of violent behavior against a woman. 

However, whenever a woman hits a man, he should put all his efforts into resolving it non-violently. But it all depends on the tolerance of a person.

This type of behavior may establish the basis of morality or even weakens deterrence. While we expect a man to be in a civilized manner, which means not to hit or attack anyone, it is also reasonable that he should not be scared to hit anyone if situations that arise. So, before anyone hits you, they should know that there can be a hit back, regardless of gender.

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was essential for bringing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking into the mainstream. The law encouraged victim advocates and government organizations to collaborate on established prevention and victim support programs resulting in new penalties for violent offenses.

FVPSA – Family violence prevention and services act

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) is a United States legislation that gives federal funding to support victims of domestic violence and their children by giving shelter and related facilities, offering violence prevention initiatives, and improving how service agencies work together in communities. It was first authorized as part of the Child Abuse Amendments of 1984 (PL 98–457).

DELTA – Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances

The DELTA program, supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), aims to prevent Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in certain neighborhoods. The DELTA (Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancement and Leadership Through Alliances) initiative aims to minimize the prevalence of IPV in communities receiving funding. Through a range of exercises, the program covers the entire range of IPV, from periodic violence to assault.

Understanding the elements that cause violence and focusing on ways to prevent these issues is how the DELTA program approaches prevention. It is accomplished by applying a social-ecological model, which depicts the relationship between the individual, interpersonal, community, and societal elements that affect violence.

Violence against women is an alarming topic in today’s time. Many people get confused for is it illegal to hit a girl or not. The violence of any kind is illegal, and laws prohibiting violence against women provide further support to women and their families. 

Just hitting a girl can lead to being prosecuted for domestic violence. Domestic violence can take various forms, including physical aggressiveness such as hitting, kicking, beating, and sexual and emotional abuse. 

Whether it is a boy or a girl, hitting is not allowed, and physical violence is illegal in all possible scenarios. Considering that the laws are gender-neutral, justice is a right provided to all people. The only thing that matters now is who is the victim and who is the assailant. In all conditions, the assailant is wrong regardless of whether the person is male, female, or even a hermaphrodite.  

People should keep their hands to themselves, and they should hit anybody under any circumstances. If they do so, there will be consequences that they should be ready to face for their immoral and irresponsible actions.
